Empty Cartons in the Container: A Real Story from One of Our Clients
A client received a container with several empty cartons. He first thought it was theft during shipping, but later realized the factory had loaded empty boxes. Here’s how we helped him.
One of our clients from South America messaged me one day, clearly frustrated. He had just received his shipment and found that several cartons were completely empty.
At first, he thought the goods had been stolen along the way. But after checking the seals and records carefully several times, it became obvious — the empty cartons had been loaded at the factory itself.
He was upset and a bit lost. We had worked with him on previous orders, so he reached out to me directly.
We talked for a while. He told me what happened, and I could hear the disappointment in his voice. We discussed the options together and decided to act quickly.
I contacted the factory on his behalf with the evidence he provided. We also arranged for our inspector to be present during the loading of the next shipment to make sure every carton was properly filled before the container was sealed.
In the end, we managed to resolve the immediate problem and prevented it from happening again. The client was relieved.
Since then, he has continued working with us. He now asks us to check new suppliers and perform inspections on his orders. So far, everything has gone smoothly.
This case reminded me again that sometimes a relatively small investment in proper inspection can save you from much bigger headaches later. Especially when you are still building your supply chain.
